A little Ogden Nash: Poetry Friday

Hey Poetry Friday friends… I’m probably not going to be able to participate much today, but I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and wishes last week.
Things got worse before they got better around here and my week has been w-a-a-a-y too long. Gearbox had an infected leg wound, needed a double root canal, and we discovered he fractured his upper jaw. I feel like a wrung out sponge. Yesterday he is finally starting to do better — he has color in his face and his smile is back.

This Is Going To Hurt Just A Little Bit by Ogden Nash

One thing I like less than most things is sitting in a dentist chair with my mouth wide open.
And that I will never have to do it again is a hope that I am against hope hopen.
Because some tortures are physical and some are mental,
But the one that is both is dental.
It is hard to be self-possessed
With your jaw digging into your chest.

See y’all next week.
