On Sunday afternoon we built 5’x5′ bookshelves in the office:
Nice, right?
They were pretty easy to build using plans we found on Instructables. They took a couple of hours to put together — not much harder than assembling Ikea shelves.
By this morning they were already totally full.
And I still have a couple of more boxes of books in the basement that aren’t unpacked. I guess next weekend I’ll be building more shelves. Or pruning my book collection.
Building more shelves, it is.
How could one not like new shelves!? Do you know these words from Anna Quindlen, Katya? “I would be the most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.” If you do, forgive, but it does my heart good to share it in case someone is not familiar with it. Thanks for sharing your photos!
That’s a great quote, Linda.
New shelves are great. The only problem with building new shelves is that now everyone wants new shelves for every room because everyone’s current shelves are overflowing. :-)
Even having 3 kindles in the house doesn’t seem to control the proliferation of books on every flat surface.
