I’ve had a week of crafting disaster.
I’ve been trying to screen print some running shirts for scouts that did an epic hike. I’ve blamed the shirts. I’ve blamed the screens. I’ve blamed myself. It never once occured to me to blame the ink. I’ve ruined a half-dozen shirts, made multiple emulsion screens, used an entire jar of ink making repeated test prints, and just about tore my hair out.
This morning, while ruining yet another shirt, I looked at the perfect test shirts I had printed the previous day with some leftover red ink and had a head*desk moment. It wasn’t the shirts, me, or the screen — it was the &%)#$*$ INK.
I switched to a different brand and printed three perfect shirts in 5 minutes using the screen I had given up on.
Anyway. For me the fun part was the graphic design.
