I realized (with one week to go in February) that I was not going to finish the ambitious journal quilt I started so I decided to do a quick, cheery quilt.
I did a faux-shibori (I scrunched the fabric up but used Dye-Na-Flow instead of dye) on a piece of green fabric to get a tonal, grass-like fabric:
I love the end result. I am going to have to dye a bunch of greens, blues, and browns this summer using real dyes:
Then I painted a large-scale flower using acrylic paint. I trimmed the square off center:
